Homework

Dear Parents,

Because I am now in the process of doing final assessments on the students and putting in all grades, I am no longer going to give the online homework for this year. However, I do not want your child to fall victim to the "summer slide", so I am putting together a link to all of the games and videos we have worked on this year. This will be ready sometime before school is out. My idea is for you and your child to use this resource all summer to review what we learned in kindergarten. I do not want your child to spend all day on the computer, all summer long! But I hope you will find a few minutes each day to have your child get on and continue practicing our new skills. Also, please don't stop reading to your child! You may not realize it now, but you are building a bond like no other when you take just a couple of minutes to read to/with your child each day. Bedtime stories are the best (in my opinion), but if your schedule doesn't allow it, then please find another time in the day that works for you.

I wish you a great summer full of quality family time, and a fabulous first grade year! And for about half of you, I will see you when you're in second grade (if you go to the new Washington school)!

Love,
Mrs. Krouskop-Smith

Homework for the Week of May 5

Here is the homework for the week of May 5. PARENTS: Please fill out the short questionnaire at the end of each week's homework to let me know how your child did this week! This is how I will know that your child completed the homework.

When you click on your group's link, you will see a screen similar to this:

The activities in the first column (labeled "Every Day!") are to be completed every day. The repetition of these activities is important, especially for those students who do not yet recognize the letters or sounds. After your child completes the "Every Day!" activities, move on to the activities under the current day. There will almost always be at least one video and at least one game to play - most days there will be several activities, as shown here. The last activity each Friday is the Parent Questionnaire - please don't forget to fill this out - this is how I know that your child completed the homework for this week.
