This Week in the Green Room

This week we read several of Mrs. K.'s favorite books. I love Froggy and his crazy antics! These are the books we read this week:

But there are many more Froggy books - you'll want to look for them the next time you go to the Public Library! That Froggy sure does some funny stuff! After we read all the books (except for the Halloween one, that was our treat!), we recalled the details from each story and compared them to each other. We listed the Title, Characters, Beginning, Middle, and End of each story, and discussed how the stories were similar and different.

We also learned the Letter Dd, and its handsign,

and we learned how to fingerspell the popcorn word the:

In Math, we worked on identifying the number of dots on a dice without counting (sorry, no picture!), and writing the number 3 (again, no pictures, but your child should have brought home a worksheet).

Our stations for this week included the following:

Small-group practice with Mrs. K. based on individual needs

Sorting our names based on whether or not they have an Ee

Matching dominoes to the correct numeral

Sorting and creating with math materials

Roll the dice and write the letter you get

Find the Ee's

Reading

Domino matching, shape sorting & creating, working on counting

Sorting and building with cubes

One-to-one matching and reading

Highlighting the letter you find in the pasta
On Tuesday we will have an all-school assembly to celebrate those students who met their family reading goal for September - 30 books. Those students will get to stand in front of the rest of the students and receive a special certificate. One student from each class will even win a t-shirt!

We will be learning about the Letter Pp, the Number 4, and the Popcorn Word and. We will be reading about and studying sunflowers.

Have a great week!
