Today we held our February Family Reading Awards Assembly. If you read 30 books with your child during February, they received a certificate and special recognition today.
Congratulations to these students and their families for meeting their goal:
Madison, Emma, Khloi, Brett, Alahna, Gracie, Evan, Payten, Chase, Breanna, Boston, Carson, Logan, and Matthew!
Way to go!

I would love to know more about what you do to celebrate your students and their families for achieving their goal of 30 books per month. I would love to add something like this to my classroom next year.

We actually do this building-wide. Because I teach in an all-kindergarten building, every class participates in the 30-book Family Reading Goal each month. Then we hold an all-school assembly each month, and the students who met their goal get called to the front to receive a certificate and a handshake from the teacher and the principal.
ReplyDeleteOf course, you could do a similar activity in your classroom to recognize your students - maybe even invite the principal, if he or she has time!
Thanks for your comment - I hope your year is off to a good start!
