Math Stations Week of Feb. 6

This week's centers:

Number puzzles

Mystery Number
Students draw a number out of the "Mystery" (Kleenex) box, then find the matching cards

These are my "gem pages" which have been repurposed. In past years, I have used them for fine motor activities - the students put colored gems on each of the circles. For this more advanced class, I made it into a game. They must roll the die and place that number of erasers on the page until it is full. Then they roll the die and remove that number of erasers until it is empty. The first one to clear their board is the winner.

Number floor puzzle

Bump! Students roll a die and place their marker on that spot. If their opponent already has a marker there, they can be bumped off. If they roll and get a number they already have a marker on, they can "king" their marker, and nobody can bump that one anymore. The first one to use all of their markers is the winner.

Students place the number of beads on the pipecleaner indicated by the flag on top of it, then place all of the pipecleaners in order.

Students draw a card, and stamp that many objects on their paper, then circle the set and write the number.

Students roll two dice, and place counters in the tray to match (a six and a five would be six counters in the top of the tray, five in the bottom). Then they count the total and write the number sentence on their sheet. They are then supposed to find the matching number sentence card, but we're having a bit of trouble fitting all of that in!

Tomorrow I'll try to get pics of our Literacy Stations for this week.
